Drop Out Details

by admin on August 16, 2010

As a point of reference and for the purposes of clarification…

The Misfit Psycles diSSent family has seen a few versions of sliders over the years.

Four so far, three officially.
Mk.i, Mk.ii and Mk.iv specifically.

The currently inventoried Mk.iv dropout system (shown) offers the GREATEST flexibility in terms of gear selection, chainstay manipulation and singlespeed to geared conversion.
The proprietary slider system works flawlessly with ALL previous diSSent slider configurations.

TWO sets of bolt holes in each slider allow for increased slider throw over the Mk.i and improved chain/chainstay clearance over the Mk.ii.

Drop outs, their nuances and every other facet is discussed HERE.
Sliders and slider hardware are discussed THERE.

A quick look at the DROPOUT and SLIDER pages will clarify for all-time which system any particular frame has…in the interest of full-disclosure it will also specify the specific benefits and limitations each version will impose.

This is but the beginning in a THREE part: diSSent Clarification Series.

  • Drop out versions
Which does I have, what does which etc.
  • AL versus ALC versus FE
What’s the difference, what do I need etc.
  • Phosphate versus Chromate finishing
Pre-paint treatments on AL and ALC.

Stay Tuned.
